The fun continues the morning after the night before the EE BAFTA awards as Premiere Scene's Claire Bueno and Anthony Bueno sit down and interview film critic Mark Kermode. Argo was named Best Film at tonight’s EE British Academy Film Awards hosted by Stephen Fry, held at London’s Royal Opera House.

Ben Affleck won the Director BAFTA and the film also took the Editing award.  Les Misérables  won four BAFTAs:  Production Design,  Sound,  Make Up & Hair and Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway.

Amour won the award for Film Not in the English Language and Emmanuelle Riva won Leading Actress. Leading Actor was awarded to Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln. Christoph Waltz won Supporting Actor for his performance in Django Unchained and the film’s writer/director Quentin Tarantino won the Original Screenplay BAFTA.

Outstanding British Film and Original Music were awarded to Skyfall.  Life of Pi won the Cinematography and Special Visual Effects BAFTAs.  Anna Karenina won the Costume Design award. Silver Linings Playbook writer/director David O. Russell took home the Adapted Screenplay BAFTA.

Director Bart Layton and Producer Dimitri Doganis received the award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for their first feature film The Imposter. Searching for Sugar Man received the Documentary award, and Brave took home the Animated Film BAFTA.

The EE Rising Star Award, voted for by the public, was presented to Juno Temple.  The Making of Longbird won the Short Animation award and the Short Film award was presented to Swimmer.

Tessa Ross received the award for  Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. The Fellowship, the highest accolade which the Academy can bestow, was presented to Alan Parker.

2013 got off to a fine start as the nominees for the EE Rising Star Awards were announced at BAFTA HQ. Premiere Scene's Claire Bueno and Anthony Bueno were eager to interview Jury Chair and film producer Pippa Harris, juror and film critic Mark Kermode and award nominee and actress Juno Temple as we discuss the importance of this award to acknowledge emerging talent and the importance of the public's participation.

Nominations Announced For The EE British Academy Film Awards in 2013! Full list here:

The nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2013 were announced today (Wednesday 9 January). The ceremony will take place on Sunday 10 February at London's Royal Opera House.

Lincoln receives ten nominations. Les Misérables and Life of Pi are each nominated in nine categories; Skyfall has eight nominations, Argo has seven nominations and Anna Karenina has six. Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty are each nominated five times.

The Master and Amour have four nominations. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Silver Linings Playbook have each been nominated three times. Hitchcock, Rust and Bone, The Imposter and McCullin have two nominations apiece.

Lincoln is nominated in the following categories: Best Film, Adapted Screenplay, Original Music, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design and Make Up & Hair. Daniel Day-Lewis is nominated for Leading Actor, Tommy Lee Jones is nominated for Supporting Actor and Sally Field is nominated for Supporting Actress.

Les Misérables is nominated for Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design, Make Up & Hair and Sound. Hugh Jackman is nominated for Leading Actor and Anne Hathaway for Supporting Actress. The nine nominations for Life of Pi are in the categories Best Film, Adapted Screenplay, Original Music, Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Sound, Special Visual Effects and Director for Ang Lee.

Argo and Zero Dark Thirty complete the Best Film lineup. Argo has six other nominations: Ben Affleck is nominated for Director and for Leading Actor and the film is nominated for Adapted Screenplay, Original Music and Editing. Alan Arkin is nominated for Supporting Actor.

Zero Dark Thirty’s other four nominations are for Original Screenplay, Editing, Director for Kathryn Bigelow and Leading Actress for Jessica Chastain.

Judi Dench and Javier Bardem are nominated as Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor for Skyfall. The film is also nominated for Original Music, Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Sound and Outstanding British Film. Anna Karenina is nominated for Outstanding British Film, as well as Original Music, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design and Make Up & Hair.

Quentin Tarantino is nominated for Director and Original Screenplay for Django Unchained. The film is nominated for Sound and for Editing and Christoph Waltz is nominated for Supporting Actor.

Emmanuelle Riva is nominated in Leading Actress for Amour, which is also nominated in Film Not in the English Language. Michael Haneke receives nominations for Director and Original Screenplay.

Also in the Original Screenplay category is The Master; Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams all receive nominations for their performances in the film, in the Leading Actor, Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories respectively.

Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper have Leading Actress and Actor nominations for Silver Linings Playbook, which is also nominated for Adapted Screenplay.

Helen Mirren is nominated for Leading Actress for Hitchcock. The film is also nominated for Make Up & Hair. Marion Cotillard is nominated for Leading Actress for Rust and Bone, which also features in the Film Not in the English Language category.

Helen Hunt is nominated in the Supporting Actress category for The Sessions.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has three nominations: Make Up & Hair, Sound and Special Visual Effects. The Imposter and McCullin are both nominated in Documentary. The filmmakers behind both films are nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer: Director Bart Layton and Producer Dimitri Doganis for The Imposter and Director David Morris and Director/Producer Jacqui Morris for McCullin.

Also nominated in the Documentary category are: Marley, Searching for Sugar Man and West of Memphis.

Director James Bobin is nominated for Outstanding Debut for The Muppets; Dexter Fletcher (Director/Writer) and Danny King (Writer) are nominated for Wild Bill; and Tina Gharavi (Director/Writer) is nominated for I Am Nasrine. The Animated Film nominees are: Brave, Frankenweenie and ParaNorman.

Moonrise Kingdom is nominated for Original Screenplay. Beasts of the Southern Wild is nominated in the Adapted Screenplay category.

Headhunters, The Hunt and Untouchable are all nominated in the Film Not in the English Language category, alongside Amour and Rust and Bone.

Seven Psychopaths and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel are both nominated for Outstanding British Film.

In the Special Visual Effects category, Life of Pi and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey are joined by The Dark Knight Rises, Marvel Avengers Assemble and Prometheus.

Snow White and the Huntsman is nominated for Costume Design, as is Great Expectations.

The Short Animation nominations are Here to Fall, I’m Fine Thanks and The Making of Longbird and the Short Film nominations are The Curse, Good Night, Swimmer, Tumult and The Voorman Problem.

The nominees for the EE Rising Star Award, announced earlier this week, are Elizabeth Olsen, Andrea Riseborough, Suraj Sharma, Juno Temple and Alicia Vikander. This audience award is voted for by the British public and presented to an actor or actress who has demonstrated exceptional talent and promise.

The EE British Academy Film Awards take place on Sunday 10 February at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London.

The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One and BBC One HD, preceded by a red carpet show on BBC Three. The ceremony is also broadcast in all major territories around the world.

Miss Piggy, in a UK first, took to the red carpet to interview some of the film world’s biggest names in her own inimitable style including Gary Oldman, Michael Fassbender and Daniel Radcliffe. The glittering awards ceremony took place last night at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, just days after ‘The Muppets’ went on general release across the UK.

Miss Piggy needs no introduction; star of film, TV and the Disney movie ‘The Muppets’ which is now in cinemas across the country, she has been a pop culture icon known for her wit, charm and for having a certain frog on her arm.

Joining Miss Piggy in the new movie is Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, who discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theatre and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theatre, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, Disney’s “The Muppets” is in cinemas now.

The Artist was named Best Film at tonight’s Orange British Academy Film Awards hosted by Stephen Fry, held at London’s Royal Opera House. The film also won six other awards: Director, Original Screenplay, Original Music, Cinematography, Costume Design as well as a performance award for Jean Dujardin who won the Leading Actor BAFTA.

Meryl Streep was awarded the BAFTA for Leading Actress for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady; the film was also honoured in the Make-Up & Hair category.

The Help’s Octavia Spencer won the Supporting Actress category and Christopher Plummer won Supporting Actor for his performance in Beginners.

Outstanding British Film and Adapted Screenplay were awarded to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Senna won the Documentary and Editing BAFTAs. Hugo won two BAFTAs in Production Design and Sound. Pedro Almoldovar’s The Skin I Live in won the Film Not in the English Language category and Rango won the BAFTA for Animated Film. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was awarded the BAFTA for Special Visual Effects.

Director Paddy Considine and Producer Diarmid Scrimshaw received the award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer for their first feature film Tyrannosaur, based upon the short film Dog Altogether that won them the Short Film BAFTA in 2008.

The Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award was presented to Adam Deacon, recently seen in Anuvahood and Kidulthood. This award, the only one voted for by the public, recognises an international actor or actress who has demonstrated exceptional talent and has begun to be recognised as a film star in the making. The award is now in its seventh year and was created in honour of Mary Selway, the highly respected casting director who passed away in 2004.

A Morning Stroll won the Short Animation award and the Short Film award was presented to Pitch Black Heist.

The award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema was received by John Hurt. The Fellowship, the highest accolade which the Academy can bestow, was presented to Martin Scorsese.

The Artist receives 12 nominations. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is nominated in 11 categories, Hugo has nine nominations, My Week with Marilyn has six nominations and The Help and War Horse are each nominated five times.

Drive, The Iron Lady and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 have four nominations. The Descendants, Moneyball, Senna and We Need to Talk about Kevin all have three nominations apiece and Shame, The Ides of March, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Bridesmaids, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn each receive two.

The Artist is nominated in the following categories: Best Film, Original Screenplay, Original Music, Cinematography, Editing, Make Up & Hair, Costume Design, Sound and Production Design. Michel Hazanavicius is nominated for Director and Jean Dujardin is nominated for Leading Actor. His co-star Bérénice Bejo is nominated for Leading Actress.

He is also nominated in the Documentary category for George Harrison: Living in the Material World and, as previously announced, will receive the BAFTA Fellowship.

George Clooney is nominated for Leading Actor in The Descendants which is also nominated for Adapted Screenplay, as well as Best Film. Joining it in Adapted Screenplay is The Ides of March (co-written by Clooney) which also picks up a nomination for Philip Seymour Hoffman in Supporting Actor.

Also in the Leading Actor category are Brad Pitt for Moneyball and Michael Fassbender for his performance in Shame, which is also nominated in Outstanding British Film.

Nicolas Winding Refn is nominated for Director for Drive and Carey Mulligan is nominated for Supporting Actress. The film is also nominated for Editing, as well as Best Film.

Completing the Director line up is Lynne Ramsay for We Need to Talk about Kevin which also picks up a nomination for Outstanding British Film and a Leading Actress nomination for Tilda Swinton.
Michelle Williams is nominated in the Leading Actress category for My Week with Marilyn, joining in Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress are her co-stars Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench. The film is also nominated in Outstanding British Film, Costume Design and Make Up & Hair.

Viola Davis is nominated for Leading Actress for her turn in The Help and her co-stars Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer are nominated in Supporting Actress, it also picks up a nomination in Adapted Screenplay, as well as Best Film.

Completing the Leading Actress line up, Meryl Streep is nominated for her performance in The Iron Lady alongside Jim Broadbent who is nominated for Supporting Actor. Further nominations for this film are: Original Screenplay and Make Up & Hair.

Joining Kenneth Branagh, Jim Broadbent and Philip Seymour Hoffman in Supporting Actor are Christopher Plummer for Beginners and Jonah Hill for Moneyball. Moneyball also picks up a nomination for Adapted Screenplay.

Bridesmaids receives an Original Screenplay nomination, as well as a Supporting Actress nomination for Melissa McCarthy.

Senna is nominated for Outstanding British Film as well as for Editing and Documentary, where it is joined in the Documentary category by George Harrison: Living in the Material World and Project Nim.

War Horse is nominated in five categories: Original Music, Cinematography, Production Design, Sound and Special Visual Effects.

Attack the Block’s Writer/Director Joe Cornish is nominated in the Outstanding British Debut category alongside Director Ralph Fiennes for Coriolanus, Writer/Director Richard Ayoade for Submarine and Director Paddy Considine and Producer Diarmid Scrimshaw for Tyrannosaur. The self-distributed Black Pond is the final film in this category with nominations for Will Sharpe (Director/Writer), Tom Kingsley (Director), Sarah Brocklehurst (Producer).

Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, Arthur Christmas and Rango are the nominees in the Animated Film category. The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is also nominated in the Special Visual Effects category alongside Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Midnight in Paris and The Guard are nominated in the Original Screenplay category.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is nominated in Original Music and Cinematography.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 has four nominations: Make Up & Hair, Production Design, Sound and Special Visual Effects.

Jane Eyre is nominated for Costume Design.

Incendies, Pina, Potiche, A Separation and The Skin I Live In are all nominated in the Film Not in the English Language category.

The Short Animation nominations are Abuelas, Bobby Yeah and A Morning Stroll and the Short Film nominations are Chalk, Mwansa the Great, Only Sound Remains, Pitch Black Heist and Two & Two.

The nominees for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, announced earlier this month, are Adam Deacon, Chris Hemsworth, Chris O’Dowd, Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston. This audience award is voted for by the British public and presented to an actor or actress who has demonstrated exceptional talent and promise.

The Orange British Academy Film Awards take place on Sunday 12 February at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. This is the fifteenth year of Orange’s sponsorship of the Film Awards.

The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One. Red carpet coverage will be hosted by Edith Bowman on BBC Three.

BAFTA 2011 - Nominations Announced

The King’s Speech receives 14 nominations. Black Swan is nominated in 12 categories, Inception has nine nominations and 127 Hours and True Grit are each nominated eight times. The Social Network has six nominations.

Alice in Wonderland has five nominations; The Kids Are All Right and Made in Dagenham have four nominations apiece; and The Fighter, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Toy Story 3 each receive three nominations.

The King’s Speech has been nominated in the categories Best Film, Cinematography, Costume Design, Editing, Make Up & Hair, Original Music, Original Screenplay, Production Design, Sound and Outstanding British Film. Tom Hooper is nominated for Director and Colin Firth is nominated for Leading Actor. His co-stars Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush are nominated for Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor. 

Black Swan has been nominated for Best Film, Cinematography, Costume Design, Editing, Make Up & Hair, Original Screenplay, Production Design, Sound and Special Visual Effects. Darren Aronofsky is nominated for Director, Natalie Portman for Leading Actress and Barbara Hershey for Supporting Actress.

Inception is nominated for Best Film, Cinematography, Editing, Original Screenplay, Original Music, Production Design, Sound and Special Visual Effects. Christopher Nolan is nominated for Director.

Completing the Best Film line up are The Social Network and True Grit, both of which are also nominated for Adapted Screenplay.

David Fincher is nominated for Director for The Social Network and Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield are nominated in the Leading and Supporting Actor categories, respectively. The film is also nominated for Editing.

True Grit has six further nominations: Cinematography, Costume Design, Production Design and Sound as well as Leading Actor and Leading Actress nominations for Jeff Bridges and Hailee Steinfeld.

Danny Boyle is nominated for Director for 127 Hours and the film’s star James Franco is nominated in the Leading Actor category. The film is also nominated in Outstanding British Film, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Editing, Original Music and Sound.

Javier Bardem is nominated in the Leading Actor category for Biutiful, which is also nominated for Film Not in the English Language.

Joining Andrew Garfield and Geoffrey Rush in the Supporting Actor category are Christian Bale for The Fighter, Pete Postlethwaite for The Town and Mark Ruffalo for The Kids Are All Right.

Mark Ruffalo’s co-stars in The Kids Are All Right, Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, are both nominated in the Leading Actress category. The film is also nominated for Original Screenplay.

Noomi Rapace completes the Leading Actress category, for her performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which has two further nominations, for Adapted Screenplay and Film Not in the English Language.

In the Supporting Actress category, Amy Adams is nominated for The Fighter, which also has an Original Screenplay nomination. Lesley Manville is nominated for Another Year and Miranda Richardson for Made in Dagenham.

Both Another Year and Made in Dagenham are nominated for Outstanding British Film. Made in Dagenham also has nominations for Costume Design and Make Up & Hair.

Four Lions is nominated for Outstanding British Film and the film’s writer/director Chris Morris is nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. Joining him in that category are: Clio Barnard and Tracy O’Riordan, director and producer of The Arbor; Gareth Edwards, writer/director of Monsters; Nick Whitfield, writer/director of Skeletons; and Jaimie D’Cruz and Banksy, producer and director of Exit Through the Gift Shop.

Despicable Me, How to Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3 are the nominees in the Animated Film category. Toy Story 3 also has nominations for Adapted Screenplay and Special Visual Effects. How to Train Your Dragon is nominated in the Original Music category.

Alice in Wonderland’s five nominations are for Costume Design, Make Up & Hair, Original Music, Production Design and Special Visual Effects.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 has two nominations: for Make Up & Hair and Special Visual Effects.

I Am Love, Of Gods and Men and The Secret in Their Eyes are nominated in the Film Not in the English Language category alongside Biutiful and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The Short Animation nominations are The Eagleman Stag, Matter Fisher, and Thursday and the Short Film nominations are Connect, LIN, Rite, Turning and Until the River Runs Red.

The nominees for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award, announced earlier this month, are Gemma Arterton, Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Aaron Johnson and Emma Stone. This audience award is voted for by the British public and presented to an actor or actress who has demonstrated exceptional talent and promise.

The Orange British Academy Film Awards take place on Sunday 13 February at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. This is the fourteenth year of Orange’s sponsorship of the Film Awards.

The ceremony will be hosted for the fifth year by Jonathan Ross and will be broadcast exclusively on BBC One. Red carpet coverage will be hosted by Edith Bowman on BBC Three.

Our Predictions on who the BAFTA winners will be

With this years film BAFTA nominations announced today, it felt fitting that we give you our predictions on who will pickup the awards in the feature film categories.

2009 was enough great year for cinema and you the film lovers clearly thought so too, with the highest number of admissions since 2002!

Whether you think it’s fair or not, we believe Avatar will run away with the prizes and in all honestly you have to say deservedly so. With anything that has had such hype there will always be the critics but the millions and millions of people going to see Avatar every day can’t exactly be wrong.
